Mandeville Nursery

All nursery pupils are referred to Mandeville through the Ealing Early Years Placement Panel. Their families are supported through the Early Help Assessment Plan (EHAP) and Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) application processes.

The nursery provides a physical and emotionally enabled environment that promotes learning in all Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) areas of the curriculum.  The environment also aims to support children in extending their play skills by incorporating each child’s schemas.

The nursery is the first step for many children where routines are embedded and activities are focussed on promoting independence and communication.  Daily routines in the nursery consist of short small group structured learning sessions with child-led play sessions in between to ensure a regulated and sensory integrated and balanced routine. Children are encouraged to extend their learning through floor play activities alongside adults modelling play or being a play partner.

Teaching staff in the nursery integrate prescribed therapies into each child’s day to day learning. Therapies include Speech and Language therapy, Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and recommendations from clinical psychologist.
