At Mandeville School, we offer specialised outreach services designed to support educators in effectively engaging students with Autism or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) within the classroom setting.

Our comprehensive approach aims to:

• Enhance Student Engagement: Implement strategies that actively involve students in their learning processes.
• Minimise Learning Barriers: Address and reduce behaviours that hinder educational progress.
• Customise Teaching Methods: Provide guidance on diverse instructional approaches tailored to individual student needs, applicable in both individual and group contexts.
• Optimise Classroom Environment: Offers recommendations on classroom organisation, communication tools, visual aids, assessment, and planning to create an inclusive learning atmosphere.
• Integrate Specialised Techniques: Advise on incorporating methods such as TEACCH, Intensive Interaction, PECS, and Makaton into daily classroom routines.
• Facilitate Professional Development: Invite educators to observe effective classroom practices at Mandeville School.
• Collaborate on Individualised Education Plans (IEPs): Engage with teachers and support staff to discuss and refine student-specific IEP targets.

Our Outreach Support Includes:

1. Pre-Visit Preparation:

• Review the student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), if available.
• Gather insights on required support, daily engagement levels, communication abilities, existing learning barriers, previous strategies, therapeutic outcomes, and personal interests.

2. On-Site Outreach Visit:

• Observe the student in their learning environment.
• Demonstrate and model engagement techniques, recommending effective strategies.
• Assess current communication systems, including visuals, signing, and scheduling tools.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide suggestions on behaviour support plans, engagement methods, teaching approaches, proactive strategies, communication enhancements, and IEP objectives.

3. Post-Visit Support:

• Document observations and provide tailored recommendations for both the students and staff.
• Offer opportunities for support staff to observe teaching methodologies at Mandeville School.
• Provide access to relevant training sessions at Mandeville, noting that some may involve additional costs
• Conduct follow-up discussions with educators 4–6 weeks post-visit to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make necessary adjustments.

Service Packages and Pricing:

•  Half-Day Support: £150 Observation and support for up to 2 pupils.
•  Full-Day Support: £300  Observation and support for up to 4 pupils.
