When we teach children, it is really important that we consider typical developmental stages. These can help put the learning in context. The Mandeville Curriculum is a developmental curriculum. However, it is also flexible to recognise that, for many children, learning is not always sequential and it is the skill of the teacher to adapt the learning to meet the needs of the child that makes a difference.
